Follow his advice if you want to lose a ton of money!

Years ago I paid for this joker's video set which ran about $500 at the time. I followed everything he advised and ended up losing thousands of dollars. First of all, he suggests that you have customers call you on a toll-free number that you have on the postcard. Then you have people listed to some 2 minute sales pitch. At the end of the sales pitch, customers are supposed to fork over their credit card info and then end up on some monthly payment plan for whatever home-business system or health supplement you're selling to people. I wanted to test out whether this all worked or not and ended up losing just under $10,000.

I actually do make money using postcards but it's not AT ALL how this joker suggests to do it. First of all, why the toll-free number? They are EXPENSIVE and a lot of people just don't want to call a number. They'd rather look at a website. So, I send out postcards with a website address and NOT with a phone number. Then your website does all the work, takes the order, and allows for your customer to download a virtual product (of course, you have to ship a product if you're selling health supplements or something shippable). If you do it this guy's way, you have to pay for a toll-free number, pay for a special type of voice mail that's attached to a live order-taking service (which is VERY EXPENSIVE) and then manually input the credit card orders into the system (requiring MORE admin work) or have the order taking service do it for you, requiring an extra fee. His way: EXPENSIVE and OUTDATED.

I like reading other reviews because it's clear that they just read this hack's book but never actually put any time, effort or cash into their postcard enterprise otherwise, like me, they'd quickly realize that this guy's stuff MAY have worked 20 years ago before the Internet became hot and heavy but it's just not realistic to do it his way now. Pass on this book. I recommend The Ultimate Postcard Marketing Success Manual: Increase Sales & Boost Branding - All for the Price of a Stamp! instead.

Good solid step by step instructions to follow on a postcard campaign but I think for most people finding a product or manual to sell is much harder than it seems. I've been in marketing for 30 years and I have people ask me all the time... What can I sell online to make a lot of money?

That is the million dollar question, if I knew it, I doubt I would be buying these how to books myself.

A comprehensive guide to practitioner

This book is an invaluable reference to all those in the internal auditing field, especially for all those who are now managing an internal audit function. The internal audit has been evloving constantly over the past 20 years to become more and more suitable for the modern business, with increasing focus on business strategy, consultation, control system designs and implementaion etc. This book is a very timely addition to the profession, given the increasing awareness of the need for internal control as required by the new legislation (i.e. Sarbanes-Oxley Act 2002). A wealth of information is packed inside with lots of flowcharts and graphical presentations, which make the readers all the way easy to understand and able to grasp the author's core concepts. There are many useful suggestions as well. Practicability has always been a subject of debate for an internal audit function and this book is no less to clear the myths about it. The relationship between internal and external auditors is also covered in depth. I am particularly interested in two of the chapters on behavioural aspects and marketing of auditing services. They show how the author assimilated his experiences with theory. The content on auditing over information technology including techniques and relationship with business operations demonstrated the book's comprehensiveness as ever as it could be. The subject is a niche and nobody wants to be checked and balanced. But you'd find advices on how to reconciliate the differences between the businesses and controls. This makes even more valuable to all those managers who are at the operational frontline realize how important to carry out their daily supervisions with sufficient controls. Overall, a highly recommended item.

About the Author
Sara Alexi was born in Oxford, England. She has traveled widely and now spends much of her time in a tiny rural village in the Peloponnese, in Greece, where she is (very slowly!) renovating a ruined stone farmhouse, whilst observing the Greek way of life and absorbing the culture, to enrich her vision for both writing and painting.

Sara began writing later in life. In school English lessons were a time of confusion, books indecipherable hieroglyphics. Dyslexia was not well understood then and no support was available. The joy of reading and writing were canceled by the teacher's red pen ...

Despite her dyslexia Sara qualified as a psychotherapist and ran her own practice for years. Her artistic nature was, at that time, confined to painting and she exhibited widely.

In a casual conversation with a client she discovered that Agatha Christie, Jules Verne and Hans Christian Andersen were all dyslexic, and Sara's perspective changed. The world of fiction opened to her with this shift in perception and she has been a prolific writer ever since.

Her 'Greek Village Series' has been very well received and provides a keenly observed, compassionate insight into the Greek people and culture, and the human condition in general. Watch this space for the next in the series, coming soon!

A story of friendship and life

This was a delightful glimpse into the lives of two very different people who became friends and were both better for it. A rare friendship that changed their lives and maybe changed mine a bit too. (It was brought to my attention that everyone has their own story and if you don't know what it is, don't assume you know them or dare to judge them.)
There were editing problems and problems with present tense and sometimes the flow was interrupted with a tiny bit of confusion but the story itself was wonderful and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It took me into a world I didn't know existed as well as to a place I would love to visit one day. Her Greece sounds heavenly but not perfect, just like the real world. With a bit of tweaking this would be a fabulous book, as it is, it is an eye-opening, uplifting and wonderful book. I loved it and would recommend it.

I am very particular about books I read and more often than not,I start a book,read a few pages and then stop reading it because it doesn't hold my interest. However, The Illegal Gardener kept me interested and captivated from page one to the end. I actually hated to have the story end.

The characters were so interesting and the friendship that developed was fascinating. I also could almost feel the mood and sights and sounds of Greece.

Great job,Sara Alexi---keep up the good work and I look forward to reading another of your books.

The Illegal Gardner -- good read

This was a very enjoyable story. It's a story of 2 people who have a solid friendship - it was just that, a friendship.
The historical aspect was interesting and the author showed how difficult life was for some at that time. But the main characters were able to overcome the obstacles and it was a very real story.
It is written very well, even with the few grammatical errors. The ending was unpredictable & a great end to a great story.

If I have a headache, it'll tell me to take a pain-killer. Ayurveda does not believe in treating the symptoms. Its advocates understanding the patient and treating the cause of the symptom and not the symptom itself. In order to do that, the ancient scriptures took a far more holistic approach to health by combining our lifestyle with our natural tendencies (which vary from one person to another). In other words, it understood that one man's medicine could be another man's poison. Ayurveda is a subject of my keen interest. When Ayurveda is presented with a combination of Yogic knowledge, it offers miraculous results for sure.

This is an amazing book and must read book for not only someone who is just curious about Ayurveda and how it works; but also for those who have already knowledge of Ayurveda and still want to know more about it in great detail covering all other important aspects of lifestyle and nature as well. And also for those who has doubt for Ayurveda, for them it is a MUST READ knowledge. This book helps understand the missing links when it comes to health.

The Wellness Sense
It is a beautiful book, a scripture in itself, and complete in all aspects. It journeys us through the spaces, into the core of our being and out into the vast expanse of the universe. It reveals before us the truth so subtly yet so significantly, we both are one. We are Nature, the farther we are from it, the more afflicted we are.
It gives us a view of our own selves and that every individual is just what they are. t has something for all age group from Parents of young children to teenagers, adults, oldies , the ones afflicted with diseases and others who are not. Every household has to have one. I just loved it.

The author argues that bystander behavior cannot be attributed to a single cause, such as anti-Semitism, but can only be understood within a complex framework of factors that shape human behavior individually, socially, and politically.

VICTORIA J. BARNETT is a consultant for the Department of Church Relations, U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum. She has written numerous scholarly articles on religious topics. An authority on the history of the churches during the Holocaust, she is the author of For the Soul of the People: Protestant Protest against Hitler (1992).

Penetrating Examination of Human Behavior and the Holocaust

In recent years, a number of books have probed the question, "How could the Holocaust happen in a highly-civilized country of 'ordinary,' law-abiding people?" Victoria Barnett's penetrating and provocative book goes a long way in answering the question. Barnett is a first-rate scholar and a skillful writer. She has studied in Germany and is an expert on Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Although she relies on a vast amount of research, the material is presented simply and directly. Rather than trying to inflame or lay blame on one person or institution or people, Barnett examines the historical and psychological elements of both individual and institutional behaviors and attitudes in Germany and Europe. Her approach is detailed, fair, and reasoned. In an honest and rational manner she presents all the factors that converged in Germany, beginning in the years immediately after World War I, to create Nazism and ultimately the "final solution." This is a disturbing book. Almost from the first page you will find yourself looking into a mirror asking: "Would I have been a bystander?" "Am I a bystander?" Barnett's writing style is simple, direct, clear, and engrossing. However, don't be surprised if you fing it difficult to read more than a few pages at a time. Bystanders should be required reading in every Holocaust-studies, ethics, history and psychology class in every country in the world. If we can answer the questions "how" and "why" perhaps we save the world from another Hitler or another Holocaust. This book changed my life.

Excellent book as far as it goes

The author of this book is focused particularly on the phenomenon of the "bystander", not the perpetrators or the victims of the Holocaust. As such, it is an excellent study of the subject. I am reading it a second time, and this time around I am more aware that one area is dark: the complicity of corporations in the Holocaust. She does, however, discuss the failure of churches and NGOs to aid the Jews in their time of need, which amounts to a gross complicity. Corporations in the US and elsewhere were making Holorinth machine cards,selling the Germans autos, trucks, etc. But given the area of focus the author sets out in the beginning, it is an excellent study of its kind.

A precise and technical study

I gave this book five stars because of its clear value to any study of Nazi Germany. Barnett has done her homework. There is one thing I would give as a warning to any perspective reader. This is not, in large part, a recounting of particular instances of what bystanders actually did or didn't do. Rather, it is a detailed and technical study of the psychological and sociological aspect of watching others suffer while doing little of nothing to aid them. Barnett picks the brains of copious experts in the field of Holocaust research. This book gives every opinion you can imagine as to why people stood by and did little or nothing. Barnett expands her observations beyond Germany and gives the reader a good idea of how the world felt about what was happening. If you can stick with the technical aspect of this study, you will learn a lot. If such an approach is not your cup of tea you ought to pass on "Bystanders".
