Inspirational and Entertaining

I thoroughly enjoyed this book - it felt genuine, a heartwarming memoir that is both inspirational and entertaining. It's the life story of a man who lost his eyesight when he was young, but he didn't let that slow him down. It chronicles his life through rehab and training for blindness, through college and finding his first job, then cancer treatments, and even winning a national blind golf tournament! One of the most exciting parts comes when he leaves his sales job to begin a new career in motivational speaking. My favorite thing about the book is that it is filled with photos from the author's life, which give you such a good feel for him as a person.
This book would be great for anyone who is dealing with cancer, injury, or a significant career change, since this book covers all of that. But truly, the underlying themes of overcoming challenges and the strength we get from family and friends make it a book that anyone will enjoy.

Such an INSPIRATIONAL story!

We forget how blessed we are when we have our eyes, good health etc. This book is such an inspirational story of a young man who lost his ability to see, but never lost the "vision of life"! Things that I would think were impossible to do, if I had been in his shoes, he did without letting anything stop him. This true story is not just about David, but the commitment, strength and encouragement that his wife has been to him, as well as others in his life. I think this book should be on the New York Best Sellers' list!

Great book and a unique & inspiring story

David Meador's book was a joy to read - what an amazing life story of overcoming obstacles and achieving success. The many personal anecdotes within the book give the reader a sense of what it is like to live without sight, and the many achievements by Meador can inspire anyone. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a great tale of triumph.
